Marketing Intelligence for Bussex Local Businesses
Located in Somerset (South West), Bussex takes in the TA7 postcode district and neighbours Thorngrove, Pathe and Burtle. Bridgwater's Guy Fawkes Carnival can be traced back through journalistic records to 1847, making it the oldest event of its kind in the UK, and the town retains the unique tradition of squibbing, giant fireworks held aloft on poles.
According to the ONS's March 2026 IDBR snapshot, there were 24,665 VAT and/or PAYE registered businesses in the area. Sedgemoor Chamber of Commerce, formerly the Bridgwater Chamber of Commerce, has represented the town's business community since incorporating in 2008 and runs the Bridgwater Town Team promoting the town centre.
10.1% of businesses in Somerset closed ('died') in 2024 (ONS business demography). Numbers like that make marketing intelligence worth having, not optional - a static approach loses ground fast in a market this active.
