Local Business Marketing Intelligence in East Looe
East Looe is one of Cornwall's local areas, within postcode district PL13, bordering Widegates, Torwell and Muchlarnick. Bude's Cornish name, Porthbud, refers to an old holy man, and the town was the birthplace of British surf life saving, with the first club founded there in 1953.
The Bude and Greater Area Chamber of Commerce is a volunteer-run membership organisation representing local business views, affiliated with the county-wide Cornwall Chamber and open to businesses, charities and community groups across North Cornwall. Government data (ONS, March 2026) recorded 25,575 VAT and/or PAYE registered businesses in the area.
93.4% of new businesses in Cornwall were still trading one year on, as of 2023 (ONS). With that much movement in the local business population, marketing intelligence is exactly what helps a business hold its ground.
