Marketing Intelligence for Spittlegate Local Businesses
Located in South Kesteven (East Midlands), Spittlegate takes in the NG31 postcode district and neighbours Grantham, Cold Harbour and Earlesfield. Grantham is the birthplace of Margaret Thatcher, the UK's first female Prime Minister, and in 1915 its magistrates swore in Edith Smith, Britain's first policewoman with full powers of arrest.
A proposed Grantham Business Improvement District was rejected in a November 2016 ballot: a majority of businesses by number voted in favour, but those in favour did not hold the majority of the aggregate rateable value needed for the BID to pass. Official ONS figures recorded 5,995 VAT and/or PAYE registered businesses in the area.
69% of new businesses in South Kesteven were still trading two years on, as of 2022 (ONS). Numbers like that make marketing intelligence worth having, not optional - a static approach loses ground fast in a market this active.
