Marketing Intelligence for Twynyrodyn Local Businesses
Within Merthyr Tydfil, Wales, Twynyrodyn shares postcode district CF47 with neighbouring Merthyr Tydfil, Galon Uchaf and Incline Top. Cyfarthfa Ironworks, founded in 1765, became the largest ironworks in the world by 1806, and by the 1820s Merthyr Tydfil was the source of 40% of Britain's iron exports.
The Big Heart of Merthyr Tydfil, only the second Business Improvement District in Wales when it was set up in 2012, was renewed for a further five years after 95% of town centre businesses voted in favour. According to government data (ONS, March 2026), there were 1,255 VAT and/or PAYE registered businesses in the area.
55.3% of new businesses in Merthyr Tydfil were still trading two years on, as of 2022 (ONS). Numbers like that make marketing intelligence worth having, not optional - a static approach loses ground fast in a market this active.
