Social Media Content for Roundthorn Local Businesses
Roundthorn is a locality in Manchester, in the North West region. It falls within the M23 postcode district. Neighbouring places include Baguley, Newall Green and Northern Moor. Manchester's first cotton mill opened on Miller Street in 1783, and by 1912 the city's mills were producing 8 billion square yards of cotton fabric a year, earning it the nickname 'Cottonopolis'. When the cotton trade collapsed after the First World War, cheap rents in the empty warehouses of what's now the Northern Quarter let independent businesses move in instead — Fred Aldous has supplied artists and makers from the same streets since 1886, and Piccadilly Records has been a fixture of the area's music scene since 1978.
ONS counted 24,550 VAT and/or PAYE registered businesses here. Manchester City Centre's Business Improvement District brings together around 600 businesses across retail, hospitality and offices, funded by a levy on the district's rateable value and run in partnership with CityCo.
The employment rate in Manchester was 71.4% in 2023 (ONS). That's the local workforce and customer base social media content is competing to reach.
About Social Media Content
Social Media Content is our monthly service for owners who would rather run their business than stare at an empty caption box. We think of the ideas, write the words and design the graphics, then send every batch to you for approval before anything goes out.
